“In America, one must be something, but in Italy one can simply be.” – Pietros Maneos
The heart of Owl and Olive is our Historic Gambrel Barn built in 1936. We have big plans and hope you will join us as we celebrate a few of life’s essentials: family, friends, nourishing food, delicious drink, quality music, and thoughtful conversation. Our dream for our customers is that Owl and Olive will become:
- A regular destination providing a welcome break from the daily grind.
- A favorite place to celebrate life’s milestones with family, friends and business associates – old and new.
- A place to “simply be,” enjoying the stunning natural beauty of our surroundings while savoring food and drink that nurtures both body and soul.
Welcome to Owl and Olive – explore all we have to offer and start planning your visit by foot, hoof, peddle, paddle or wheel!
THE CAFE AT OWL AND OLIVE
The Café at Owl and Olive is all about good food made with simple quality ingredients – some of the best you will find in our (or any) neck of the woods. Our love of Italian and Mediterranean food, flavors and ingredients is infused throughout our menu. The Café at Owl and Olive is small, unassuming, and tucked away on the ground floor of our historic gambrel barn.
EVENTS AND WEDDINGS IN THE BARN AT OWL AND OLIVE
The barn loft at Owl and Olive provides a beautiful and unique setting to celebrate events large and small. The warmth of natural old growth cedar and fir planks and timbers surround you. The vaulted ceiling spreads overhead reaching nearly 40′ to the inside of the cupolas. Tasteful accent lighting illuminates the rafters while three rustic barn-size chandeliers and complimentary bistro lights combine to provide a warm glow on the gathering space below during both daytime and evening activities.
THE FLOWER STAND AT OWL AND OLIVE
Owl and Olive is also initiating a small cut flower operation in 2022. With nearly 100 varieties of dahlias and other flowers in our test gardens, Owl and Olive is aiming to eventually offer a variety of cut flowers to compliment our events or to take home and enjoy. By the stem or by the bouquet, you’ll find dahlias and other varieties in abundance all summer long according to their season.
THE WILLAPA HILLS TRAIL
Located between Rainbow Falls and the Pe Ell Trailhead along the Willapa Hills Trail, Owl and Olive is proud to be a good neighbor and friend to trail walkers, hikers, cyclists and horseback riders. With ample parking for cars, RVs, horse trailers and bikes, Owl and Olive is the perfect base for a day out on the trail. Head west toward Pe Ell, over Pluvius Pass and on to Raymond on Willapa Bay, or east toward Rainbow Falls and the farms of the Chehalis River Valley.
Aligned east to west, the Willapa Hills Trail runs 56 miles from Chehalis to South Bend intersecting with US Highway 101. Originally acquired by Washington State Parks from the Burlington Northern Railroad in 1993, the trail roughly follows the Chehalis River to the east and the Willapa River to the west.
WE HOPE YOU WILL JOIN US AT OWL AND OLIVE!
